What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a practice of medicine that combines the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. It emphasizes six main principles: prevention, identifying and treating the root cause of illness, harnessing the healing power of nature, treating the whole person rather than a collection of symptoms, providing education about health, and doing no harm.

What are common conditions or concerns you see?

I see people with many different concerns including, but not limited to: mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD; pelvic pain and recurrent UTIs; immune dysfunction including Long-COVID; vector-bourne illnesses such as Lyme Disease; GI distress; seasonal and food allergies; generalized fatigue and burnout; LGBTQ+ Health (HRT available for AZ patients only); previous alcohol use and sober curious; and overall wellness and prevention.

What can I expect from you?

You can expect: 1. A thoughtful and whole-person approach, 2. Open, honest, and clear communication, 3. Realistic and grounded recommendations in pursuit of YOUR goals, 4. Easy to access care in the times that you need it, and 5. A 'dad' joke or two.

How much do visits cost?

New patient visits are $340 and follow-up visits are $245. Sliding scale visits may be available upon request. Please email for additional information.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes, absolutely! I know that choosing a new healthcare provider can be nerve-wracking. You can book a free 15 minute consultation on the scheduling page or by emailing me at drgettman@summersunintegrative.com.

Do you take insurance?

My practice is cash-based and I do not take insurance. Some insurances allow for out-of-network visits with naturopathic doctors and a superbill can be provided to you. You should check with your insurance provider regarding your coverage.

If you live in Arizona, I can see you for a specific health concern or as a Primary Care Physician. If you live in Vermont or Washington, DC, I can see you for a specific health concern however, you must maintain a relationship with a Primary Care Physician. If you live in certain other states, I can provide health coaching ONLY and you must maintain a relationship with a Primary Care Provider in your state.
